For: people in the community planning to care or currently caring for someone who is dying.

The short course covers the dying process, administration of medication, basic mouth care and hygiene, what to do immediately after a death.

Discussion group to explore concerns and anxieties about being present at the end of life.
Starts with a narrative describing 2-3 different deaths
Participants to guide discussion with their specific concerns/needs

You need to discuss your wishes with your family, or family need to open the conversation themselves. Why are people scared of talking about death? Why is it important to know someone’s wishes and have a plan? How do we get past the discomfort of the conversation?

Advanced Care Directives and Advanced Care planning

How do you write an ACD? How do you decide from a menu of possible treatments? How do you write all this down in a way that makes your wishes clear to everyone?
